The challenge was set. So something in our under utilised space, make it interesting, a challenge and lots of fun.
We came up with, going up. What a hit, the tree was a magnificent Mango Tree and now the children can climb up a rope ladder to gain access to a deck that gives them the choice to scramble through a enclosed net tunnel to a free standing high deck then down the knotted ropes or climb over the branches and gain access to the tunnel slide.
They have a beautiful out-door space at Deception Bay Kindy, full of natural green grass, lovely trees but their sand-pit and mud-pit were holding them back. You know the look: rectangular , metal flat roof, concrete edges, BORING... So were are introducing a much more natural look that will fit in with their space. We are building a Tree-house style roof over the sand-pit and we are pulling out the old square concrete and replacing it with a natural edge sand-stone boulder surround and then creating a sand-stone crazy-pave path which has a water-course built in and connects to the revamped mud-pit. with a shallow carved bowl to collect water. Then we are adding a timber slab with twin stone bowls for mixing up the best mud pies. We are in the fun making business. We are nearly finished So stay tuned for the after photos!

Looking back now from the Mud-pit to the Water Course and arrive at the transformed Sand-Pit. Look at the beautiful stone bowl with drainage into the mud-pit and seating for adults and children alike
This Hand water Pump has a Under-Ground collection Tank that is connected to the existing Kindies Water Tank. Add easy to maintain crazy-pave Sandstone and Wellah fun for all.
There just had to an Owen the Hippo. What else would fit a Mud-Pit wallow. The children love him and he is looking forward to mud pies and cakes.
